Saturn in Pisces is an interesting energy that can show up in your life in a number of different ways.

Saturn themes include: challenges, structure, restrictions, commitment, discipline, time, responsibility, and rules.

Pisces themes include: empathy, imagination, compassion, escapism, mysticism, spiritualism, psychic phenomena, sensitivity, and dreams.

Saturn brings form and structure, while Pisces is ethereal and boundless. As such, Saturn in Pisces can bring form into the formless.

At a societal level, we're seeing this happen right now with the dramatic rise of AI (Artificial Intelligence), further blurring the line between what is computer generated and what is actually real. I expect to see AI to hit its stride when Saturn conjuncts Neptune in Pisces in 2026, as Neptune rules Pisces and blurs the line between fantasy and reality even further.

On a personal level, Saturn in Pisces can help us manifest our dreams and destiny into reality.  But with Saturn it doesn't just happen magically; with Saturn, it only happens through discipline and hard work.

Saturn went retrograde on June17, 2023 and stationed direct at 0º Pisces on November 4, 2023. Saturn is a slower moving planet, and spends about four and a half months in retrograde every year.

Saturn takes between two to two and a half years to go through each zodiac sign, and it takes between 28-29 years to cycle through all twelve astrological signs.

All the planets "move" in both direct and retrograde motion. Actually, they physically move the same forward direction all the time, but there are times that they appear to move in reverse from our perspective here on Earth. These are known as retrogrades.

Retrogrades are periods to look inward with regard to the energy of that particular planet. Think verbs that start with the letters "re" like reassess, reflect, review, rewrite, reinvent, reimagine, restructure, etc. When a planet is direct,  it's time to expand those planetary energies outward again, to take action, to experience growth and to make progress.

You may notice that there are certain months of the year when you don't feel like you are making any progress at all, and other times where everything seems to be moving so quickly. Often, those times are dictated by how many planets are moving retrograde or direct.

If you are sensitive to planetary energies, you may feel a shift in momentum on the actual day a planet stations retrograde or direct, or the day a planet changes zodiac signs, also known as an ingress.

Saturn ingressed, or first entered, 0º Pisces on March 7, 2023. What was going on in your life around that time? Did you notice any changes in your thinking, feelings, or your actions?

If you don't keep a diary or a journal, you can try checking your emails or your calendar. For planetary retrogrades or ingresses, I like to check a few days before a particular date and a few days after.  (With eclipses, which are more powerful, I typically check two weeks before and two weeks after the eclipse date.)

What projects were you working on when Saturn entered Pisces? Who did you talk to or spend time with? Those and future actions could have special significance between now and February 2026, when Saturn leaves the sign of Pisces, not to return to Pisces again until 2052!

That's a long time, so it's important to put in the hard work that Saturn requires to see positive growth and change in the area of your natal chart that Saturn is visiting. We only get so many opportunities with Saturn in any one sign, so it's very important to capitalize on each of them.
